Maurits studied Philosophy of Science in Groningen and continued with a major in Finance in Rotterdam. In his thesis he tried to combine both seemingly independent worlds investigating whether the choice for an ethical foundation in a sustainability strategy impacts returns. Yes it does;)

Thereafter, he started as a finance trainee within Pon Holdings and moved on to Ponooc - Pon Holdings independent venture arm. In 2021, he - together with the family - set up the family office associated with Knop Ventures. In his spare time, Maurits likes to play golf, ride the mountain bike and being in nature (including watching birds).
